Obfuscation is one interesting word; it refers to the action of making something obscure, unclear, or unintelligible. There’s a lot curatorial and artist statements out there that engage with this sort of art and culture babbling, perhaps inadvertently so, because that’s often how artists are taught to contextualise art concepts in their student days in the academic world. Straight’s job is to help our clients’ “un-obfuscate” their writing & translations, to make them easier to understand for a wider audience.

With half our team originating from a background in media and journalism, Straight is well versed and passionate in all arts & culture matters. We have rich experience in art translation in both English and Chinese, covering all types of assets, from artist statements, to press releases, invitations, to festival brochures, booklets and mini-sites over the past decade, serving individual artists, different galleries and Hong Kong public institutions.
